As an advertising creative through and through, I’ve always loved awards. Honestly… who doesn’t? Over the years I’ve been lucky enough to win all kinds of them — national and international — working on everything from car brands to NGOs. But the peak probably came with the Heinz x Absolut campaign, when my friend and outstanding creative leader Paco Badia invited me to come and play alongside him and the team.
One of the projects I collaborated on at Wunderman Thompson, involved developing visuals for one of the most unexpected brand collaborations in the retail world. Heinz was launching a tomato sauce infused with Absolut Vodka, inspired by the now-viral pasta recipe Gigi Hadid shared on TikTok during the COVID lockdown.
To promote it, we decided to revive and pay tribute to the iconic Absolut advertising style from the 1990s and 2000s, creating a new series of Heinz-inspired executions built around that instantly recognizable visual language. The campaign was a huge commercial success, delivering overwhelming sales results, and went on to receive recognition at numerous international advertising festivals, including a GLOBAL GRAND PRIX at The WARC AWARDS in association with Cannes Lions.
